What takes more time packing or unpacking?

If you choose to use On The Move packing services, we will have you packed and ready to go within 1 to 3 days. Obviously, if you have a lighter load, it will be closer to a day, if you have a bigger house and more items to pack, it may take three full days. In general, depending on whether you choose packing and unpacking services and if you are moving within the Middle Tennessee region or out of state, our moving services can take anywhere from one day to a full week from end to end. As tempting as it is to postpone unpacking the boxes, just dive in and take them one box at a time.

Shoot first to have the basics in kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. Write “first” on the boxes with essentials in each of those areas that you'll need to open right away, such as the one with the coffee maker and the corkscrew. If after reading these organizing tips, you are still overwhelmed by your long-distance move and the idea of unpacking, contact Allied Van Lines. Hopefully, you packed smartly, keeping similar items together in boxes (like all bedding in the same box).

Keep in mind that the kitchen is the room you need the most time to unpack, due to the number of small, heavy and fragile items. These are often toiletries, medicines and important documents that cannot be left behind until they are unpacked elsewhere. If your goal is to organize your new home after you move, then it makes sense to unpack with that in mind. You're almost done, your guest room is the last room you'll ever unpack and you've learned the correct order to do it.

The best way to unpack is to pack rooms in one room at a time, rather than just taking the essentials and leaving them in the wrong place. This way, unpacking can start in an organized manner and you'll find that it's quicker and easier to unpack everything. You know when you need to pack your bags, when you need to be away from your current home, and how long you have to move. We reserve the right at all times to remove any information or material that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane, indecent or otherwise objectionable to us, and to disclose any information necessary to comply with law, regulation or government request.

For now, unpack the essentials (your everyday items and any items you need to hang up as soon as possible) and come back for the rest later. Take out your decor and unpack your extra things from your closets and store them in the closet in the hallway or in the spare room. So what kind of calendar can you expect for a move? How much longer can you expect an out-of-state move to take? How long will it take to pack? Breaking the boxes as you go along will help avoid the clutter of the boxes as you unpack them and, especially, prevent a large stack of empty boxes from getting in your way. If you are comfortable in the moving process, it is possible to unpack your house in about a day and a little longer to decorate your new space.

Unpack a box of off-season clothes that you set aside when you unpacked your room and other items, for example, in a closet in a hallway or spare room, wherever you want them to live.
